The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) North Carolina is excited to announce a free FAFSA HotSpot Drive-In to support students as they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Drive to location noted above

  • Park in designated area blocked off by cones and stay inside your car

  • Turn on blinkers and a volunteer will arrive to give you access to the hotspot

  • Once connected, log-in to FAFSA.gov and begin working on your FAFSA from your car

  • If you have questions or need assistance, turn on your blinkers!

WHAT TO BRING

  1. Mask to be worn when volunteers provide assistance; If you do not have one, one will be provided

  2. Charged laptop OR mobile device to work on FAFSA application

    1. Using a mobile device? Download myStudentAid app to complete your FAFSA on your mobile device

      1. Apple users: myStudentAid app

      2. Android users: myStudentAid app

  3. FSA ID to login to your FAFSA application

  4. Know your social security number (student and parent)

  5. Driver's license (if you do not have one, don't worry about this step)

  6. Copy of 2019 tax records.

  7. Records of untaxed income and assets

  8. List of schools you plan on attending
